And sad too. Also, the beauty=goodness myth is a trip enough, but who gets to decide what is beautiful. And we are so focused on physical beauty. I too don't see anything wrong with powder or lip gloss either. Women and some men have been adorning themselves since antiquity, but the obsession to look a particular way, rather than finding what is beautiful in you is haunting, and sad for sure. Also, the beauty=goodness myth is a trip enough, but who gets to decide what is beautiful. And we are so focused on physical beauty.

Some of these women really embrace that LA-look, and it's just freaky looking. It's so sad to me. I'm all in favor of a little powder & paint, if you *want.* Girly stuff is fun. But the porn-star/mannequine look is disturbing. It smacks of mental illness.
