Mixed Media on Canvas
I am interested in the nature of what is, and the creative potential that we all possess. this potential can spill into all parts of our lives. I've always been very createve in the way I approach things, but through the practice of yoga, I have become open to a completely fresh and limitless way of looking at things. I seem to have a richer experience when I work on my art these days.
When I draw I am able to see how things are. Drawing directly from observation becomes a language to express what is visable in all of its complexity, there is no denying what is in front of me, I analyze and execute. Yet, when I go inside and draw from what is unseen, the drawing becomes more of a meditation, my consciousness deepens and I can see how connected things are.
When I paint I tend to be a bit more expressive, responding to what I see, feel and think. I express emotions through the colors and many applications of paint then try to work through the many layers that have been created, sometimes feeling utter confusion, and frustration, but I always manage to find my way through the muddle, and gain insight and clarity. It's a never ending and ever changing exploration.
For me it's necessary to pay attention and weave through both fields of my mind, the anaylical and intuitive, and honor both. My work is to thread my visual expressions together, share them through an open heart, intelligence and wisdom, and to hopefully grow in the the process.
