Sometimes things are just a little beyond your control

photo-4.jpgI am really having to see the humor things here lately. It is either that or cry, and there is no need to cry here.

Earlier this week, my car decided to give out, and send smoke signals from under the hood.

Fortunately, Steve, my memphis dad, (Dad, you will never be replaced BTW, but I am blessed with wonderful people in my life) let me borrow one of his work trucks for a couple of days, and thankfully so, because my car picked the coldest and wettest day thus far to do this. I did not have to tool around in the chill and dampness, with out any time to acclimate to the shift in weather. Today is gorgeous, and I hope it stays this way for next week, because I may be on my bike. Steve and his guys are gonna need their car back before mine returns.

The mechanic can’t even get to my car until monday afternoon, so I don’t even know what the problem is yet.

I don’t mind riding my bike one bit, and I am not one to shun physical activity, but time is a factor, and I have several private classes out east, that could possibly be affected. I am not going to stress out about it, because everything will be OK.

I just hope my car is OK, and not to expensive to repair.

Yesterday morning, I woke up, and my internet connection was not happening. For some reason, the network could not be found. I don’t know why, it just could not. I called Comcast, and I have to give them credit, they were fast in acting, polite, considerate in the time frame they gave for me, and were here when they said they would be. (because of this, I can almost forgive the horrid music that they play on the phone as you wait for a service representative>ALMOST). It turned out not to be from the cable end, though yesterday the modem did not have all its lights on, so of course comcast appeared to be culbable at the time I made the call. At any rate, my network was all the sudden back and viola, I had internet as mysteriously as I had lost it. The comcast dude did nothing, I did nothing, it was weird.

Ahhh well, I don’t like to be cut off like that, and I don’t much care for the emotions I was feeling while trying to get my internet to work yesterday, it was quite a range I must say. Yes, I made it just fine for years without a computer, and a cellphone, but once they are in your world, a strange dependency can take place. Oh goodness, something I don’t like to be, >dependent < and when I don’t know how to fix the situation, or I don’t understand it, I go nuts.

That is a metaphor for something that can go much deeper, though instead of going there, I’m gonna get myself ready to go to the ballet. Much more fun to think about indeed. Yaay, I get to dress up. I love dance, and am excited.

I will let you know how it all goes, ballet and car.
